How to Clean a Bathroom Faucet

How do I clean my American Standard bathroom sink faucet?

American Standard faucets feature a durable finish, designed to look beautiful with minimal wear-and-tear. Our faucets are built to last, but you can do your part to keep them looking brand new.

Our faucets can be cleaned simply, by rinsing with just a splash of clear water and drying with a soft cotton cloth. No hard scrubbing required. Never use soaps, acids, polish, abrasives, harsh cleaners, or cloth with a coarse surface as these can wear down the finish and cause damage to the faucet.

American Standard faucets come in four elegant, long-lasting finishes: Polished Chrome, Polished Nickel, Brushed Nickel, and Matte Black. Not only do these finishes complement any and all bathroom designs, but they also provide you with the opportunity to style your space just the way you envision it. Looking for additional cleaning tips for each of our finish options? See below:

Lez Monoblock Bathroom Faucet

Polished Chrome

Polished Chrome faucets are timeless, classic, and coordinate with any bathroom color palette as seen in our Lez Monoblock Bathroom Faucet (also available in our Matte Black finish). Cleaning tip: For hard water stains or lime and calcium buildup, try using a soft-bristled toothbrush and baking soda.
Delancey Single Hole Bathroom Faucet

Polished Nickel

Polished Nickel faucets provide a unique alternative to chrome, with lasting shine, as seen in our Delancey Single Hole Bathroom Faucet (also available in our Polished Chrome and Brushed Nickel finishes). This finish can be easily cleaned with clear water and a soft cloth thanks to its long-lasting shine and high quality surface finish. If you’re looking for a safe cleaning solution for your faucet, you may also try mixing 1 tablespoon of salt into 3 quarts of warm water. Once you’ve wiped the faucet with the solution, rinse with clear water.
Townsend Widespread Bathroom Faucet with Lever Handles

Brushed Nickel

Brushed Nickel faucets are beautifully textured with a soft ambiance and elegant look, as seen in our Townsend Widespread Bathroom Faucet with Lever Handles (also available in our Polished Chrome and Polished Nickel finishes). If you’re looking to have your faucets shining bright, try mixing 50/50 white vinegar and water for a gentle yet effective cleaning solution.
Studio® S Widespread Bathroom Faucet

Matte Black

Matte Black faucets are sleek, modern, and provide a strong focal point in the bathroom as seen in our Studio® S Widespread Bathroom Faucet with Knob Handles. This finish in particular is easy to maintain utilizing clear water and a soft cotton cloth. It’s important to steer away from any rough cloth materials as they can scratch the faucet surface.

By using proper cleaning techniques and consistently caring for your bathroom faucet, you can keep these finishes shining for years to come.
