LIXIL Canada brings design, innovation, technology and more to the 2019 Interior Design Show Toronto

Recognized brands American Standard, DXV, and GROHE to be showcased through expert talks and exclusively designed vignettes
MISSISSAUGA, January 16, 2019 ― LIXIL Canada, maker of pioneering water and housing products, will welcome a new year of design and innovation at the 2019 Interior Design Show
(IDS) in Toronto from January 17-20. LIXIL Canada is showcasing inspiration and insight direct from the experts through custom vignettes and a well-designed lounge space to house a series
of designer talks and a special guest appearance by GROHE brand ambassador and tech influencer, Amber Mac.
Halifax-based designer Jonathan Legate will re-imagine his 2018 DXV Design Panel vignette recreating a build-out that is currently part of the brand’s North American national ad campaign. Originally presented in New York City in 2018, Jonathan re-interprets a Mid- Century Sculpture Garden, challenging the notion that art doesn’t belong in a bathroom. His unique design explores the blurred lines of indoor and outdoor spaces with a living ivy wall, water pools and DXV’s Modern collection.
In addition to Jonathan’s space, three more vignettes will be unveiled during IDS Toronto, reimagining the bathroom as a relaxing retreat. Four west coast design studios selected for the Open Studio installation at IDS Vancouver will recreate their concepts. Angela Robinson Design, Kendall Ansell Interiors and AK Design Vancouver & Madeleine Design Group will incorporate the newest collections from American Standard, DXV, and GROHE into their 100-square foot conceptual LIXIL at IDS 2019spaces. From vignettes inspired by the modern, bleached white villas in southern Spain to Northern Africa’s luxurious spas and a private soothing escape, these installations are a mustsee while attending the show.

Amber Mac, Tech Expert and GROHE Brand Ambassador in Canada
Author, keynote speaker and recognized technology expert Amber Mac will shed light on the top smart home trends for 2019 while touching on the latest innovation and technology from GROHE, including the GROHE Sense & GROHE Sense Guard water management system – offering innovative protection against costly water damage by notifying homeowners about excess moisture or
leaks through a smartphone app.
LIXIL Lounge with GROHE Blue Bar
Show attendees can visit the LIXIL lounge designed by Toronto design firm Designtheory, 2017 DXV Design Contest winners. In the lounge, the GROHE Blue Bar will feature sparkling, filtered
drinking water tapped straight from the brand’s award-winning kitchen faucet. During the opening night party, specialty mocktails using sparkling water will be served.
