Toronto, Ontario (September 13, 2010) – In April this year American Standard sent two mobile plumbing showrooms on a seven-month-long tour of North America. Their mission – to cut water consumption by two billion gallons through demonstrating the effectiveness of the current generation of American Standard bathroom products.
On September 13th, well on its way to meeting the target, the Responsible Bathroom Tour will swing north into Ontario. The mobile showroom will welcome visitors at nine plumbing wholesale locations in selected cities. Some hosts will add a personal touch to the event, but the star attraction will be the mobile showroom itself.
“Around 65% of water consumption in a typical home takes place in the bathroom,” says Stephen Collette, spokesperson on environmental matters for American Standard in Canada. “Therefore, if you are serious about conserving water supplies, the very best place to start is with toilets, showers and faucets.”
The showroom presents a selection of WaterSense® toilets for domestic and commercial installations, FloWise showerheads and faucets. All products are functional.
“The most important message delivered by the Responsible Bathroom Tour is that today’s users can reduce water consumption while enjoying improved performance in a wide choice of styles,” says Collette.
At every stop, the showroom attracts a broad range of interest – not just homeowners but plumbers, specifiers, interior designers, housing officials and utility managers. Visitors experience product demonstrations and giveaways, and learn smart ways to reduce water consumption.
When it ends in December the tour will have visited more than 300 locations in the US, Canada and Mexico. American Standard Brands is confident that the tour will have attained its two billion gallon target by convincing visitors to get serious about conservation, replacing old wasteful fixtures with top-rated WaterSense® toilets, faucets and shower heads.
The Responsible Bathroom Tour is the latest in a series of initiatives by American Standard Brands to raise awareness of practical water conservation solutions.
